life is movement

“The ‘unmoved Mover’ became definitive for Christian metaphysics and, down to the present  day, puts its stamp on what are considered to be the attributes of God’s divinity, such as God’s immutability and impassibility. If God’s divinity is understood in this sense, is it then identical with ‘the living God’ of the Old and New Testaments?

MoverNo, ‘the living God’ is not in love with Godself. On the contrary, God goes out of Godself and loves the beings God has created. God’s love for those God has created is the first thing; the love for God by the beings whom God has created is the second. As used to be said, ‘The God who loves human beings makes human beings who love God.’

The Biblical experience of God would correspond to a ‘self-moved Mover’ rather than to an ‘unmoved Mover.”
