Sitting on my couch reading a book on Roger Williams. Heard something loud approaching overhead, walked outside to see planes flying over in tight formation. Wished I had my camera. A few minutes later they flew over again. This time I had my camera.

I think the planes are WWII-era Mustangs that are based out of Van Nuys airport (info courtesy of my hubby who knows/cares about such things). We used to see them quite often.
Thanks Maria for the ID! I was hoping someone would fill me in on that. They were flying with the sun behind them, so I only saw the vague shapes in the pictures, not really enough for me to use my very meager identification skills (which are limited to being able to look things up online… and F4Us which I got to know from my obsessive watching of Black Sheep Squadron).
